IMAGINE adaptation | BC3

In order to prepare a visual narrative for the results of this scientific study, I was commissioned to create an animated infographic video based on its core concept and a script developed by the research team. To support the narrative, I created a series of icons, vector illustrations, and characters designed to communicate the key messages in a clear, engaging, and visually appealing way.

Given the large amount of factual information that needed to be conveyed, movement and animation were kept to a necessary minimum to avoid overwhelming the audience and to maintain clarity. Overall, I believe this approach worked very well, resulting in a piece that is both informative and enjoyable to watch.

About the project:

Have you noticed how small choices in your daily life are starting to change because the 🥵 🥶 ☔ weather no longer feels the way it used to? What kinds of things are you changing in your routines to face the heatwaves that are now hitting Europe?

This short motion video looks at the small, often informal actions people take to respond to changing weather patterns. It explores what everyday adaptation means and how effective these actions are in reducing climate risks, especially in cities. Based on the study by Cecilia Alda Vidal & me as part of the IMAGINE adaptation project at BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change, this 🩷 video invites us to rethink climate change adaptation not only as large-scale policies or infrastructure, but also as something embedded in urban daily life.
