The Confined Generation
A personal documentary relating the two world disasters that affected millions of lives, Chernobyl and the Covid-19. As different as they are, and as contrasted the official reaction of the corresponding governments of then USSR and now Spain to the health risks as it were in 1986 and now in 2020. Both of these silent enemies affected the kids in a way that will stay in their memories for their entire lives. The film is a recollection of my childhood experience of Chernobyl (April 1985) while born and raised in Minsk (Belarus) followed by the real first hand documented experience of my children during home isolation in Spain due to Covid-19.
Written, shot and edited entirely from home and during the lockdown period of 8 weeks in Spain. Special thanks for the beautiful soundtracks: “Ash” by the Secession Studios Sad Piano by Tyops ‘Friedrichshain’ by Orphan Train Project
